Camacho
The latex from the trunk has analgesic, anti-inflammatory effect, it heals cuts, insect bites and helps with snake bites.
Agave (Cabuyo Negro, Penco)
The plant produces an edible fruit called Alcaparra, which makes for a very tasty pickles. The juice from the heart of plant is distilled to make tequilla or can be used locally to cure arthritis pains.
The dried leaves are used for natural ropes, the fresh ones can be used for washing clothes.
Sheep
At Finca Figaro we keep a small herd of happy sheep, who spend their days grazing on the meadows and their nights safely under the roof guarded by Negro the dog.
The sheep provide meat and also a powerful fertiliser for our plants.
